Jean-Luc Meier

Expert in international- and public affairs with substantial experience in corporate communication in political and economic challenging situations. He designed and implemented successful negotiation- and communication-strategies in English, French and German. With the focus on negotiation, government liaisons and strategic partnerships on the highest political and economic levels, he achieved fruitful relations between the interested parties.

Jean Luc Meier was working in the private banking area with leading global banks before he has established his own business expansion consulting firm in the 1990s. He was mandated to design business development and strategic relationship strategies. He designed and implemented sales-structures for the financial and the consumer goods industry.

Soon after he has established his own consulting firm Jean-Luc Meier was chosen by the Swiss Banking Ombudsman in cooperation with the Swiss Bankers Association to establish the “Contact Office of the Swiss Banks for Dormant Accounts” representing all banks in Switzerland. The task of this administration office was to offer a central contact office for potential heirs searching for assets within Swiss banks. Jean-Luc Meier was in direct communication with the banks and responsible for providing search criteria of potential assets. He was also analyzing the legal aspects in regards of rights of inheritance and for the communication with potential heirs all over the world.

He was mandated by the Government of the State of California to implement an international program for the promotion of the high-tech-industry in California. Jean-Luc Meier was the official representative of the "Goldstrike-Initiative" and the State of California in the context of the Global TechLink-Program in various Europan countries. The Goldstrike-Initiative itself was in cooperation with the Economic Development Agency of the Federal Government of the USA and the Regional Technology Alliances of the Bay Area, Los Angeles and San Diego. He was responsible for building up strategic relationships with Governments, governmental agencies, had full authority to lead the negotiations for bilateral agreements and to formalize the connections between the governmental entities and decision makers.

Before he co-founded SES - Strategic Expansion Solutions he was Strategic Business Development Manager with a global telecommunication firm and head of a multinational Private Merchant Financial Firm, where he was also on the Board. In this function he was also instrumental in the design and the implementation of structured financial products for the Eastern and Central European market.

Jean-Luc Meier is on the advisory board of TGSV and is or was on the board of several companies of technical, consulting and financial based industries in Switzerland, the United States, Germany, and the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Besides his business life, Mr. Meier is an active board member of non-profit organizations, foundations and private initiatives focusing on the quality of life, politics and sustainable economic and ecological development.

In October 2014 he has been appointed as Member of the Board of Directors of World Federation of United Nations Associations, headquartered at the United Nations Plaza in New York City.

Mr. Meier is a French and German native speaker and speaks English and Spanish fluently. He has good working knowledge in Italian and Mandarin Chinese as well.
